Train of Thought from Leo Bridle on Vimeo.

Train of Thought was made as our graduation film from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth. Although Leo Bridle & Ben Thomas used digital compositing software, all the animation and models were done by hand, not with CGI. The film took approximately 9 months to complete, from storyboards through to the final edit.

Cinimod Studio | DJ Light (DJ Luz)

DJ Light (DJ Luz), Lima 2010 from Cinimod Studio on Vimeo.

DJ Light is an immersive public sound and light installation that gives visitors the power to orchestrate an awe-inspiring performance of light and sound across a large public space. It was created for energy company Endesa by the Cinimod Studio London as the cornerstone of their Christmas celebrations in Lima, Peru.

The installation consists of 85 giant globes of light, each capable of displaying millions of colours. As the "guest DJ" assumes their position on the podium, they can use their arms to point and gesture. These movements are translated in real-time into beautiful movements of light and generative sound across the space.

Quest Visual | Word Lens app

Word Lens can instantly translates printed words from one language to another using the video camera on your iPhone. No network delay, no roaming fees, and no reception problems.

Word Lens is a dictionary -- evolved. It looks up words for you, and shows them in context. You can use Word Lens on your vacations to translate restaurant menus, street signs, and other things that have clearly printed words.

Word Lens has its limits. Sometimes the translation will have mistakes, and may be hard to understand, but it usually gets the point across. If a translation fails, there is a way to manually look up words by typing them in. Word Lens does not read very stylized fonts, handwriting, or cursive. Try it, and tell us what you think!

MNML MIMO | TikTok+LunaTik Multi-Touch Watch Kits

TikTok+LunaTik from Visere on Vimeo.

TikTok and LunaTik simply transform the iPod Nano into the world's coolest multi-touch watches. The idea to use the Nano as a watch was an obvious one ever since the product was announced. But Scott Willson at MNML studio wanted to create a collection that was well designed, engineered and manufactured from premium materials and that complemented the impeccable quality of Apple products. Not just clipped on a cheap strap as an afterthought. Scott wanted to create a product that your friends and strangers would stop you and ask "WTF is that??? And where can I get one?!"

TikTok will retail for $34.95 and LunaTik will retail for $69.95. iPod Nano not included. iPod Nano, Apple logo and Apple are registered trademarks of Apple Inc.

The all-or-nothing funding site Kickstarter has another big hit on its hands — and an iPod nano watch on its wrist.

Ryan J Woodward | Thought of You

Thought of You from Ryan J Woodward on Vimeo.

Thought of You - Behind the Scenes Preview - ROUGH CUT from Cambell Christensen on Vimeo.

The birth of 'Thought of You' came from my desire to unite several of Ryan's passions into one art piece. Figurative works, 2d animation, EFX animation, and contemporary dance. Put all three of these forms together to support a theme centered around the complexities of intimate relationships…and whalaa, Thought of You is born!

Rather than creating a narrative animated piece that communicates a well defined story, this piece allows for each individual who views it to to experience something unique and personal that touches their own sensibilities.

Olympikus | The People's Cup

At the invitation of Olympikus 32 moviemakers got together and produced a movie "The People's Cup" whose setting is the world. More specifically, the 32 countries that competed in the World Cup 2010. It is a movie that deals with emotion and the people and not the soccer and the games themselves. It is a movie that talks about the emotions and thrill in a broadest and most collective sense. A movie to show the real emotions and the true colours of the World Cup 2010. A movie that will inspire Brazil for 2014. Designed by Icelandic illustrator Siggi Eggertsson, this is a beautiful packaging design coming from Brazil.

BlackBerry | Empathy

For their sponsored project held by RIM Blackberry at the Art Center College of Design, designers Kiki and Daniel had to incorporate an interface that integrates human emotions with the concept of social networking. The result of this exercise was the Empathy concept. The phone is used in conjunction with a biometrics ring that is worn by the user to collect “emotional data”. Spec-wise it features a transparent OLED screen that becomes transparent when not in use and opaque during interaction. The front is all touch surface, while on the back there is a physical keyboard.
